National Bank to aid in the Lac-Megantic Disaster

The Bank shows support for Lac-Mégantic disaster victims

The Bank will donate $50,000 to the Canadian Red Cross to help victims of the disaster in Lac-Mégantic, Quebec. By doing so, the Bank wishes to show its support and sympathy for the people affected by this devastating tragedy.

Our employees are currently hard at work re-establishing access to our various services. An advisor is available at Polyvalente Montignac de Lac Mégantic located at 3409 De Laval in Lac-Mégantic to answer questions and assist clients at this difficult time.

Special measures have also been put in place, including deferring payments, to help our clients affected by this disaster (on a case-by-case basis). As needed, National Bank clients may contact our customer service at 1-888-483-5628.

National Bank will also be collecting donations from the public as part of fundraising efforts organized in all branches across Canada from July 8 to August 9, 2013. Cheques and donations should be made out to the Canadian Red Cross, Lac-Mégantic Explosion. The Red Cross will issue income tax receipts for donations of $10 or more. All donations collected by National Bank branches will be sent to the Red Cross and be used to provide immediate assistance to disaster victims
