Reg and Paul and their team move to National Bank Financial to re-launch a new location for the firm in London. They appreciate the large bank safety and security as well as the flexibility to offer clients all they need. Most of the Team’s clients join the team at the new firm. Reg becomes branch manager of the new location and oversees all branch operations. Jaden Ropp also joins the Team and becomes a key member of the client service group. Reg becomes a portfolio manager and is licensed and certified to manage money on a fully discretionary basis. This is a new and unique development that allows the development of our successful basket program.

The team launches its first basket using National Bank Financials unique basket program. The Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) basket is born at a time when ETFs are a very small part of the Canadian investment world. The team recognizes that these products will be a key part of the financial world for years to come.

The Team launches their first semi-annual client advisory board meeting. This involves the same 7-10 clients meeting every 6 months to discuss the JMRD Team, investment industry developments and anything else that arises. This board continues to meet for many years and discuss many far reaching topics. This is a relatively new initiative in the industry at the time and helps to refine the focus of JMRD moving forward.

Wilf continues to be a key member of the Team and becomes Chairman of JMRD in order to be a sounding board on future direction and team initiatives.
